Involve is a youth, community and communications organisation
established in **Apply on the website**, working primarily with
members of the Traveller community. As part of the delivery of our
services, we focus on young people from marginalised backgrounds. The
organisation?s history is embedded in education and training.
However it has evolved over time, based upon on the needs of young
Travellers accessing the services provided by Involve.
We now seek to recruit a suitably qualified an experienced person for
the role of CEO.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Creates an environment and culture that focuses on fulfilling the
organisation?s mission, vision, and values.
* Operational management of all aspects of the organisation.
Ensures that the organisation is staffed with well-trained, quality,
and engaged employees at all times; works closely with the Board of
Directors to develop effective hiring, training, and compensation
plans to retain our staff ; and leads and mentors staff, engaging and
empowering them to be successful employees for the organisation.
Oversees financial performance and risk profile while ensuring that
all of regulatory obligations are met; manages the design and
implementation of our services.
Represents the organisation at key Department/agencies meetings,
national strategy meetings, community events, and networking
opportunities.
* Ensures quality metrics are achieved through sound business
processes following regulatory agency guidelines.
* Focuses on consensus building efforts and strategic planning.
* Ensures the timely submission of financial and operational
reviews, to the board of management.
* Monitors organisation?s performance by measuring and analysing
results, initiating corrective actions as required.
* Increases revenues and income to ensure we can deliver on the
objectives of the Involve.
* Effectively manages contract negotiations and statutory
compliance.
* Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations,
participating in educational opportunities, reading professional
publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in
professional organisations.
These are the key duties and responsibilities for the post and further
responsibilities/key duties may be allocated from time to time by the
Board when the need arises. Any significant changes to the role will
be addressed through a consultative process as part of our Human
Resource Management practices.

The organisation directly manages, supports, delivers training,
support and strategic direction to seven youth projects in the
following Counties: Galway, Mayo, Donegal and Meath. Each of the seven
youth projects has its own unique programme of delivering activities
and in total, the projects engage over six hundred young people every
year, with priority given to those aged **Apply on the website** -

TRAVELLER?S VOICE
Involve delivers a community development approach in the delivery of
its publication, titled Traveller?s Voice, this publication provides
a range of articles on relevant issues, directly employing Travellers
on staff to ensure that the publication is relevant to the Traveller
community. This publication has also a number of platforms that it
operates that allows further information be disseminated to the
Traveller community nationally.
TCIP (TRAVELLER CULTURE AND IDENTITY PROGRAMME)
Involve have designed and developed a Traveller Ethnicity and Culture
programme in collaboration with other national and regional Traveller
groups that challenges the prevailing, negative stereotypes and myths
relating to the Traveller community living in Ireland. It promotes
reliable data and knowledge about the community in wider society and
is part of developing evidence-based training programmes that meets
the needs of groups and organizations working with the Traveller
community. This project has increased the capacity of workers to
deliver information, in a multi- faceted/dimensional way, and in an
inclusive manner. The programme gives a comprehensive overview of
Traveller History, Traveller Culture and Traveller Life Today.
STATUS (SUPPORTING TRAVELLERS ADVANCE THROUGH UNIVERSAL SERVICES)
The STATUS Toolkit is a Quality Assurance (QA) Framework whereby
organisations can engage in a process of self-evaluation and agree a
Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) to support their youth work
practices to be more inclusive of members of the Traveller community
at all levels within their organisation. The aim is to achieve the
best possible outcomes for the engagement, participation and retention
of young people from the Traveller community in their projects and
overall activities. A number of Institutes of Technology to enhance
their engagement with the Traveller community has also adopted the
STATUS toolkit.
EMPLOYMENT & ENTERPRISE
Traveller unemployment is at an unacceptable level at **Apply on the
website**% in Ireland presently. Involve CLG are working to secure the
support of relevant national, regional and local agencies to deliver
targeted initiatives, both employment and enterprise for young people
who are marginalised from the labour market. This work will be piloted
in a number of locations where youth projects exist. We have initiated
the process of engaging with the services to ensure that we work
collectively as one cohesive support system to ensure success for
individual members of the Traveller community.
By providing a coordinated approach, we will have an integrated rather
than a fragmented employment service on offer to the most marginalised
in our community.
